this image was originally letterpress printed with handwriting on it. i came across it & wanted to share it a little more widely this time. i drew this little boat and my dear friend & mentor pilar nadal helped me turn it into a photopolymer plate back in 2016. it was november, and was the first thing i printed after my mother died in april 2016. it was also the month that trump was elected.
grief changed my world, and is now a fundamental part of how i understand the vast ecosystem of losses we experience all around us. so here’s a tiny humble offering, in the hopes that it might offer a little comfort to someone. xo
